Why Liberty FC?
Liberty FC Premier Soccer Club
LIBERTY FC is a premier soccer club located in northeast, Ohio. Our objective is to develop club members and help them to maximize their potential as players, young people and future role models. They will learn the importance of DESIRE, DEDICATION and DISCIPLINE as they have FUN learning to play “The Beautiful Game”.
Our goal is to provide a quality soccer organization with quality players and coaches so that our club will be competitive in the state of Ohio. This manual will give you guidelines as to what the staff of LIBERTY FC expects at all times of its players and parents. We are not just looking for soccer players but also young men and women who are well rounded.
Aims and Philosophies of Liberty FC
LIBERTY FC’s number one concern is player development. The ultimate goal of our club is to develop players so they can go on to the next level of the game, high school, Olympic Developmental Program, US Soccer Developmental Academy, college and the professional level. We have a commitment to our players to put them in an environment that is challenging and will constantly test their abilities. As players mature it is important to move them up to ensure that they are constantly challenged at their own individual level. All of these challenges must be kept within a fun yet demanding environment. Technical, tactical, psychological and physical aspects of the game will all be taught within the structure of the club’s curriculum.
Conduct of Liberty FC Players
Our club demands the highest of expectations from its members, as a person and a player. Remember that you are representing LIBERTY FC and yourself at all times, on and off the field. Show respect to your coaches, trainers and teammates. They are there to help each of you become a better person and player. We only want the highest quality people associated with the program.
Commitment and Attendance of Liberty FC Players
“Without commitment, nothing gets done” is our club motto. We understand that everyone will at one time or another have a conflict with training and game schedules. It is our expectation that each player will do their best to commit to all training sessions and games during a season. If this is not possible, you will need to contact your team manager by e-mail or phone at least 24 hours prior to a practice and at least 48 hours prior to a game. The coaches need time in advance to find a replacement. Keep in mind that the majority of coaching occurs during training, this is the true venue for players to improve.
Liberty FC Coaches
Bring a soccer ball, shinguards, practice jersey and a filled water bottle to each training. Be prepared and ready to do your best. It is important to show up for trainings on time. This means have your shinguards and shoes on and ready to go by practice time. During practices, we ask that all parents respect that the players are training and to stay a fair distance away from the fields. Our coaches strive to create an environment that is quiet, focused and with no excessive pressure from scrutinizing parents. This is so the coaches can be heard and understood easily. If everyone adheres to the rules, players will enjoy the environment that is extremely conducive to coaching, playing and learning.
At each training LIBERTY FC players and coaches are required to wear LIBERTY FC gear. Starting with Spring 2011, players are required to wear their GOLD training jersey and black shorts for all practices.
If a training is cancelled due to weather, it will be posted on the website around 3:00pm. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK E-MAILS AND STAY INFORMED.
Liberty FC Game Day
Game schedules and directions to all the fields are available on the club’s website. Each player needs to be at the soccer field 30 minutes before game time. There will be a 30 minute warm up session prior to kick-off. Please make sure to bring ALL your LIBERTY FC gear to every game along with soccer ball, shinguards and water bottle.
Liberty FC Tournaments
Each LIBERTY FC team will participate in one mandatory tournament. This tournament is included in the cost of that season. There will be an opportunity to play in one additional tournament at an additional cost if there is enough interest. It is IMPORTANT FOR THE PARENTS TO RESPOND BY THE GIVEN DEADLINE if your child can play or not. Rosters and money are due from the club in advance for a tournament which are not refunded.
Liberty FC Cost to Participate
The cost to participate and join LIBERTY FC varies depending on the age of the player and the team they are on. All fees include coaching expenses, administration, league and tournament fees. The fees do not include transportation to and from trainings, games or tournaments.
Players that are invited to join our club are asked to make a full year commitment and not just a season commitment. We will NOT hold roster positions. If you choose to sit out a season, your position will be opened up for another player.
Once you have accepted a roster spot the fees are NOT REFUNDABLE. This includes in the event of an injury, because you change your mind, or forgot to notify the Club Director.

Liberty FC Communication
Communication is primarily through e-mails and the LIBERTY FC website. The LIBERTY FC Director of Coaching (DOC), Tavi Muresan, will send information to the Assistant of Boys Development, Assistant of Girls Development and the Assistant Club Director. The information will go from there to the Coaching Staff, Team Managers and LIBERTY FC members. We strongly recommend that you check your e-mails ON A DAILY BASIS. There will be no phone calls to remind players and parents of the schedule or cancellations. The schedule for the current season will be available on the club’s website www.libertyfc.org .
Prior to the season each player will receive a TEAM PICTURE with the TEAM ROSTER and GAME SCHEDULE along with any other important information the club has at that time.
Players are encouraged to keep open channels of communication with their coach at any time. The LIBERTY FC DOC, Tavi Muresan, has an “open door” policy. If you have any concerns reguarding coaching please contact him at tavimuresan@yahoo.com . Administrative questions can be directed to your Team Manager. If you are not getting a reply from the Team Manager or they are not able to help with your problem, please contact the Assistant Club Director.
Liberty FC Role of Parents
The role of each parent is extremely important for all young athletes. Again, the coaches ask at trainings for parents to stay a fair distance away from the fields. We encourage parents, family and friends to attend games applauding the players good plays. There is, however, to be NO COACHING BY PARENTS from the sidelines during games or trainings.
We ask that coaches are not to be approached by parents at trainings or games either before or afterwards concerning their player. This is a time for both the coaches and players to be focused on the task at hand.
Liberty FC Role of Team Manager
The role of Team Manager for each team is very important. This is a volunteer position so respect, help and respond by any given deadlines. The Team Manager will notify you by e-mail if there are any changes to the initial schedule but not to remind you of a game. Please let them know in a timely manner if your player cannot make it to a game or tournament so the club can make the proper adjustments.
The line of information will go from LIBERTY FC DOC (Tavi) to the Assisitant Club Director (Kris) to the Team Managers, to the Team Parents. Please follow this hierarchy. The seasons are very busy for all of us and with a good structure of communication many problems and headaches can be avoided.
